Providing Turn-Key Systems Which Include Engineering, Design, Fabrication, Assembly, Installation and Startup
Automated Dust Removal Systems
The automated final tacking particulate removal system is custom designed to perform the consistent,
efficient and repeatable removal of both particulate contaminants and static charges from products immediately prior to the coating process. The system is engineered to address both the part configuration and the substrate type, which provides a significant
productivity increase and reduced labor requirements by successfully automating a manual step. The particle removal unit is used extensively in the Wood and Plastic Industries where the demand for a high quality finish is the standard of the industry. The units come in a variety of configurations specifically designed for each application. Horizontal and Vertical units are available with Single drum or Dual drum design. Ostrich Feathers have long been the removal method of choice for the automotive industry.
Ostrich Feathers: Standard of the Industry
Other designs incorporating synthetic brushes and wheels have been introduced, but the Ostrich Feather has proven to consistently give high quality results over a wide
range of products. Its ability to obtain contaminants without harm to the substrate and then release them to be
drawn up by the vacuum unit is unsurpassed.
Features & Benefits:
- Ionized Air blow-off unit (s) removes loose particulate and eliminates static charge on contaminants and product surfaces prior to entering the duster wheel area.
- Rotating “Ostrich Feather” duster wheel (s) mechanically removes the balance of
particulate contaminants left over after initial air blow-off by developing a static charge due to the friction of its rotation against the surface of the product being dusted, allowing the individual feather ends to hold the removed contaminants. The contaminant-laden feather ends then rotate against a release bar.
- After the feathers release the particulate, a high velocity knife directs them into a vacuum air stream for collection at the vacuum unit, keeping the dust contained.
- Parts receive a final blow-off with ionized air knives to help eliminate part static prior to coating applications.
- Custom Designed, User friendly control package is included with each unit.
Compressed Air Quality
- The units use compressed air for the control operations and Ionized Air Knives. The Facility supplied compressed air needs to be free of moisture, oils and particulate prior to the machine (s) connection in order to operate successfully.
